Web Developer

Right now we need a good web developer. If you can code a REST interface in one line of Perl, we want to talk to you (but of course we wouldn't hire you - one line of perl is just bad form...). We want energetic, passionate coders who strive to solve real world problems using the latest tools and techniques.

  • Maintain / manage web maintenance client requests
  • Perform routine checks of retainer client systems
  • Perform software and web development tasks as required on a per project basis
  • Maintain and update internal software and website systems
Requirements (aka skills you will need to use everyday):
  • Ability to read and hand-code XML, HTML and CSS
  • Ability to code (and debug) in Javascript
  • Demonstrable proficiency in PHP - i.e. you've developed significant stuff in it, contributed to an Open Source project, wrote part of it, etc...
  • Solid understanding of SQL (MySQL in particular). Must be able to perform complex joins.
Recommended Skills (aka skills that score brownie points):
  • Familiarity with Drupal, Joomla and/or Wordpress - particularly themeing/skinning/styling
  • Familiarity with source control management systems, particularly Subversion
  • Familiarity with Apache (particularly mod_rewrite)
  • Familiarity with Linux/*nix
  • Familiarity with jQuery
  • Familiarity with Python or Ruby
  • Familiarity with SOAP and REST
  • Familiarity with Photoshop
Absolute Requirements (aka sorry, there's no fudge room here)
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work within deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Desire to constantly learn and evolve your skills

We work on Macs, we code in the Cloud, and we won't make you wear a tie (unless you want to, that's cool with us too).
